Which driver configuration should I use for direct laptop to MircoLogix 1200 Communications? How do I determine the series of the 1200 that I have? What is the default node number for a MicroLogix 1200?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Lucas,
I would use the rs 232 driver in linx. This is under the heading RS 232 DF1. when you add this device, choose the auto configure option. this will then allow you to communicate. I belevie that the node default will be 0, will you want to change this? if you are using the PLC as a stand alone unit it would not matter.

Make sure you are connected to the Micro when you select Auto-Configure, or it will fail. I'm fairly certain that SLC's/Micros are defaulted to Node address 1 for any protocol (except ethernet), since the default node address for RSLinx is 0.
