I have a job where I am building a machine that has to be integrated into an existing assembly cell. The cell has a slc 5/03 and the equipment I am building I am going to use a micro 1200. I know I need 1 1761-net-aic, but do I need another at the slc? My micro is going to have a PV 300 connected to it, can I also use the net aic to communicate between them? I know I may have to change some firmware to get this to work properly, but I am not exactly sure what components I need to mak this work. I will use a MSG cmd to communicate host and slave. I have done this type of thing before, after alot of head scratching and some pointers from here made it work.

If you want more than two devices to access a DH-485 network you need each device to have the 1761-NET-AIC.

If the ML1200 is an "R" series (2 comm ports) and you are connecting the PanelView to its own dedicated port on the 1200, then you should only need 1 NET-AIC between it and the SLC. Just as long as the PanelView is using the separate comm port.
