Hello everyone,

While digging around at work I came across a old 1747 L511 processor. It was in a 4 slot rack with input and output cards. After powering it up I didn't see any problems with it other then being alittle dusty. I have a 1747 pic cable, looks like dh485 to serial port. I was wondering if there would be any problems with me communicating with it through RSLogic 500 software. Is this processor capable of handling that. If so would I, could I use the rslinx communication to tinker around with it. I don't even have a clue on to what driver I would use.
This stuff is all kinda new to me, any help would be appreciated

use the 1747-PIC driver in RSLinx ... note that if you already have a DF1 driver installed, then you'll probably have to delete that one before you add the PIC ...

start out with the default values (baud rate, etc.) for the PIC driver ... they're usually right ...

RSLogix500 should work fine ...

have fun ... and let us know how this turns out ...

best regards,
Ron
