Full Version: Ethernet through 802.3 ethernet radios

Hi everyone!

I have recently set up a system here at work that uses 3 ethernet radios.

Location 1 is WWTP. (Micrologix 1500)
Location 2 is Pump Site 1 (Micrologix 1500)
Location 3 is Pump Site 2 (Micrologix 1200)

I have set the system up with Net-ENI modules and I can see all of the components just fine, as long as they are Allen-Bradley devices I can see them through RS-Linx AB-ETH etc.

As long as I can see these devices, I'll not have a problem out in the field when I implement them but, why is it that when I plug in the office network into one of the 3 switches, RS-LINX says that the computer addresses (that i've added in configuration) are not recognized and puts an X over them.

The computers in the office are running the latest software (all the same) with all of the .EDS files loaded.... but some will have symbols and some will not, some will have symbols that are more graphically involved (more detailed) than others as well., some run XP and some run Windows 2000.

What is even more strange is that 1 of the computers (win 2000) is visible to all other computers and RSLinx uses a computer terminal icon to show it, also diagnostics are possible on this particular computer.

I cannot figure out why only this one computer is visible and the others are not... does anyone know what it is that I could have done right and wrong here?

Thanks for your help colgate.gif

I would guess that something in the added on 'office network' has the same IP as the NET-ENIs. Double check all your IPs and masks.
