I have got my hands on the IPDS (or whatever its called) dos program and am trying to pull data off some old tapes.

I can get the data off the tapes to .ARC format, but I cant do anything with them (other than fire them at a PLC)

I would like to be able to see the code in the file, but it wont open it or convert it.

Have I missed something funamental here? helpsmilie.gif

Data that you retrieve off those old -SB tape recorders will be in *.ARC format; that file format denotes Logical Context format.

I think you can just re-name the file to a *.ACH format (Context format) to be converted to *.AF3 format (Offline format).

You might want to get A-B's help on this directly; I am by no means a PLC-3 expert and just learned about the file formats from a dusty note inside an old user manual I found behind my desk.

The 6200-PLC3 software came in two versions - one supporting on-line programming only. Perhaps you have that version. If so, you'll need a PLC-3 to see the code.
