Hi all,

Ref. Panelview 1500

I'm interested to use the Panelview Plus Logic Module with our own LCD, i.e. I'd like to bolt up the Logic Module to the back of our own VGA touchscreen LCD's. I assume the Logic Module interface the VGA signals and touchscreen signals via the dual connector as shown in the manual (2711P-IN004C-MU-P).

The reason for doing so is in order to use our own high-brightness, daylight readable 18" & 20" LCD modules which use ELO touchscreens.

Any info appreciated,

Ian.

I don't think you're going to be able to do it. I have never seen a public or internal document that describes the Logic Module / Display interface connection.

There's more than just VGA and a touchscreen/keypad connector in there. The screens report to the logic module what size they are, which allows it to size the basic configuration dialog windows that make up the "Configuration Mode" of RSView ME. There is also some reading of some EEPROM data that identifies the display's Series / Revision values as well as it's heritage as a display from a PV+ or a VersaView CE. For reasons that are well beyond my understanding, the displays from VVCE and PV+ aren't interchangeable.

If I wanted to run RSView ME with my own touchscreen, I'd opt for the VersaView 200R computer; it's the compact DIN-rail mountable display-less PC that A-B offers. You can simply hook up your screens' VGA connector to that little PC.

Hi,

Thanks for the info......I kinda thought there were a lot of pins for the functions I was hoping there was there.

Btw, we already use a PC similar to the VersaView 200R you mention, from ADLINK.
