Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new with Allen Bradley PLC and i would like to expend my actual 501 PLC with a deported IO base. Is somebody can explain me what i need to do the job or where i can find info on that subject..... Usally i use Siemens.....

Deported I/O?

Do you mean remote I/O? If so I don't believe the SLC5/01 supports remote I/O. You will need at least a SLC5/02 to do so.

If your added I/O is the 1746 type and can be physically located very near the main rack which holds the 5/01, then you can extend the backplane with a cable for a total of up to thirty local slots.

Chassis Interconnect Cables:
1746-C7: 6-Inch Rack Interconnect Cable
1746-C9: 36-Inch Rack Interconnect Cable
1746-C16: Chassis Interconnect Cable, 4Ft (1.22M)
