Full Version: Question About Wiring

The following is a diagram of an AB Micrologix 1100.

My question is this: on the output terminals do I need to run a 120V wire to the terminals marked VAC/VDC and then run a wire from the output terminal (O/1 for example) to the output device? I have worked with SLC 500 before but this is my first exposure to the Micrologix.

Thanks.

Hello Phillip,

I'm not an expert. If you are familiar with SLC5 this looks like a 1746-OX8 isolated relay output card.

You can put what ever voltage to VAC/VDC and the output next to it (O/0, O/1...O/5), once the output energized this voltage will have power on what ever you have connected to it. Make sure you respect the limits of the relay contact current and voltage limits.

Check this out: http://literature.rockwellautomation.com/i...in027_-en-p.pdf page 28.

Hope I was helpful.

Yes,see drawing below from the same manual as the picture above.

Thanks Micky and Pulsar, you have helped a great deal. I should have picked up on the isolated relay part.

For once I've been helpful.

Glad to have been helpful.
