I cannot find any documentation in LOGOSoft telling me the difference between an "M" output and an "IM" output. I saw mention of it somewhere that said teh IM doesn't "take up any resources" whatever that means....

What's the last digit of the Logo part number? That determines the product generation, like 0BA3 is 4th gen.

Did you look at the Logo manual? www.siemens.com/logo and you can get the programming manual, which should describe all that in greater detail than any help file in the software.

Hi, I use both 0BA5 & 0BA6. I have read through the LOGO manual, but not the programming manual....I'll see if I can find it......thanks! The one mention I did see just said somthing about using fewer 'resources' but I have no idea what that means.....if one is better than the other, why would the other exist at all?

Might exist for backward compatibility, so you can take a program from an 0BA3 forward into a newer model. Not sure what the difference is, haven't seen units since -0BA4.

BAsically a IM flag would appear to be provided for use as a dummy flag, that can be used more than once, i.e if you have a rung that is excessive you can split it by putting the IM flag at the end of the first half of the code then use it as the first contact in the rest of the code
