My second message/topic.

My Dell Laptop (Latitude 600) has a slot for PCMK cards. I've purchassed a 1784-PCMK communication card.

In Window's: Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager my AB's PCMK card appears and in the properties it say that it works properly.

On RSLinx I was able to set up the driver and I make sure that all other drivers are stopped to avoid any conflicts. Yet there is a message saying that there is a conflict with a port. I believe it is the printer's port. I don't want to check it to avoid getting the DBS.

Any tips?

Thanks.

Generally when an RSLinx error message refers to a "port", it is referring to a COM port, which is a serial port.

RSLinx has no drivers that would affect the parallel "LPT" printer port.

The message may refer to an RS-232 driver and have nothing to do with your 1784-PCMK card at all.

Can you post the exact words that appear in the error message ?

Rockwell Automation's salesmen and service engineers use Dell D610, D620, and D820 computers extensively, so we are certain that the Latitude D600 series supports the 1784-PCMK.

Hello,

I verified if the settings were correct and all is set as the settings I was provided for in an earlier message.

So I do have the correct device type selected.

Here is the message in the driver box in RSLinx: AB_KT_PCMK DH+ STA0 Addr: D000 ERROR.

Now if I understand what is the problem that should be because it's using some memory that is already used by Windows.

I know that there is a place in Windows where you can look up to see which memory are used it is possible to set it for the Board Address.

I think I'm half way there.

I did try to put the drive onto manual demand and stop it. Once I hit the stop button on RSLinx I got again the Dead Blue Screen.

Than you again.

OK me again this is the senario after reinstall Linx
first you go to configure drivers
then you select to configure 1784 KT/KTK ....... PCMK for DH+/DH-485
whent the click on ADD NEW and the name/rename dirver screen apears.you can change the name to you driver(I prefer to live the default asigned one
AB_KT-1 DH+ STA0) after that a configure 1784-PCMK window apears on the left side is a small window under the VALUE word this is where you have to select PCMK because if you select anoder oneis whent the blue screen apears.
mi solution to this problem(I created on purpose to help you) go to control panel /install uninstall software and uninstall RSLinx, whent windows is unistalling RSLinx the blue screen well be apears and shutdown windows but this is fine because the well shutdown RSLINX and then you can uninstalled and rinstalled again.

NOTE: if you got RSLinx activated to profesional make shure you remuve the activation before try to reinstall RSLinx

I hope this help you
