I don't have the software to look at this program thus making it a little difficult to upgrade to a new PV+. They are not wanting to buy the software for me due to the fact that we only have one of these HMI's and I am replacing it as soon as I get this converted. Plus, forget about a TECH contract with AB. Huraah for bad economy!! I do have RSView Studio ME, but I am not able to access the Locked Knowledge base doc# 44265, to which I am perplexed as to why I need to pay extra money just to utilize some more tools that the software could have incorporated into it...But that is the way it is.. So, if anyone could give me a hand with this I would greatly appreciate it. I would settle for a CSV file of the tags inside the .PVC file, but the more help the better right?! Thanks ahead of time though.

Can't upload file
It says I am not permitted to upload this type of file??? Guess I need more help than I thought...lol

Use winzip or equivalent and zip the *.pvc file and try uploading that.

That is exactly what I thought of today... Thanks!!

Also, As far as setting up the coms do I need to have it hooked up to the plc in order to acquire this, or is there another better way. Sorry, this is the first time I have messed with PV+.

You can import your zinc.pvc file directly into RS View ME, open a new application, give it a name ZINC and then choose the import option, you can then select PV1400e type and browse for your zinc.pvc file. There is some options to set up to do with the new screen size, you may have to have a few goes at this to get it right, I know I did when I converted one a while back. Also if your source application is not particularly good with respect to being aligned to the grid when you are moving to a larger screen e.g. a 1500+ this becomes magnified greatly and takes some remedial work to get it looking OK again. The tags all get imported into ME, your application is on RIO and this is where my experience runs out. You will have to set this up in RSLinx Enterprise within ME, maybe someone else will chip in with some pointers.

I've attached a pdf of your tags and rio setup from PB1400e.

Good luck.

I did import from the .PVC. I was able to figure out how to import all the rest of the tags straight from the .rsp file of the RSLogix 5 program.
I suppose the next question will be setting up the RSLinx Enterprise... :)

There is an option of replacing the PV1400 CRT screen with an LCD one in the same housing that requires no programming..

Yes I did look at this, but it only cost $700-800 more for new technology. I could not justify $4500.00 US dollars for just a LCD upgrade. While the work would have been much easier, but were is the fun in that... Thanks for offering a suggestion though. I do appreciate it. :)
