I am in the process of resurrecting an old C200H-BC051 PLC, I have Syswin 3.4 programming software and would like to know if I can communicate via an LK202 host link unit mounted on the backplane as I have a spare slot next to the PLC.

If communication is possible with the LK202 unit where could I find the cable configuration for the 9 pin connectors?

If the above is not possible what are the other options for upload/download to PLC from PC?

Regards, Brian.

Welcome to the board.

Yes you can use the LK202, but it is RS422. An LK201 is RS232, and would directly connect to your PC.

Manual for the host link unit can be found here;

Cable diagrams can be found here;

Do you have the manuals for the C200H? It can be found here also;

You may want to consider upgrading at least to a C200H Alpha, these have a separate power supply. You would have to change the rack, but, the I/O cards will still work.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thank you very much for the in-depth information, but just looking at the cabling information in the LK202 manual it looks another device required between the LK202 and PC?. I have trawled the web but can only see cable pin outs for LK202 to various devices e.g. NT touch screen display but not direct to PC

Is it possible to connect direct between LK202 & PC.

Regards, Brian.

The device you see between the LK202 and the PC is an RS232/RS422 converter. You will need one of these. It does not have to be an Omron unit, but you still need one.

BTW: Thanks for the resources bluebyu wink.gif

Here is a LK201 on ebay. Probably would be cheaper to buy this than buy an RS232/RS422 converter.
