I have a PLC 5/60 sitting on my desk. Currently the whole purpose of the processor is for testing code. The person who used it before me foolishly put in a protected program, and no longer knows the passwords. I had read in the past that you can delete the program and remove the password protection from the unit. I don't really care about the program that is in there. If it just goes away, that is OK. Does anyone know how to do this?

pull the battery ... count to 10 or so ... that should kill it back to "off the shelf" conditions ...

edit ... sorry ... I should also have mentioned "power down" the system while the battery is out ...

possible exception: you MIGHT have an EEPROM memory module installed ... if so, pull that too - and ask for advice before you put it back again ...

There's a capacitor on the PLC-5 to allow you to maintain the program during battery changes. Power down the rack. Pull the battery. Short the connections on the battery connector. Then reinstall the battery and you're good to go. And yes if you have an EEPROM module, pull that too.
