Hi,
I'm trying to learn how to use HSC with Micrologix 1200. Which input can I use for HSC? This is what I'm trying to do. A press with a 24VDC encoder (360ppr) connected to the shaft. I like to turn on an output (feeder solenoid) after the ram leaves the bottom position. So I need to turn on the output around 200 to 220 since 180 is at bottom. Also like to reset the count when ram reaches the top position. I like to use both soft and hard reset (proximity switch).
Is it possible to use count up instruction for that?

Thanks
Ken Roach
The function you are describing sounds like a "programmable limit switch", which is implemented in the same hardware as the high-speed counter functions of the MicroLogix 1200 controller.

Chapter 5 of the MicroLogix 1200 Instruction Set Reference manual describes these functions of the controller.

There are also some examples of the PLS function on the RA Knowledgebase; I found two just by searching "1762 programmable limit switch"
