Hi Friends,

I am trying to select Momentum platform for a certain project I am working on. After having gone through the catalogues for Momentum I have selected Processor, I/O bases, Communication adapters(Modbus Plus).

The problem is I have a lot of field devices like Power meters (Modbus)that I want to communicate with. How do I connect these in my system and what adapters do I have to select?

Thanks for your replies.

From your description, it sounds like you're using Modbus Plus to connect the processor to the I/O bases. That lets you pick a processor adapter with an RS-485 Modbus port to communicate with multiple field devices, either 171 CCC 780 10 with an RS-232 Modbus port or 171 CCC 980 30 with an Ethernet port. If a device has only an RS-232 port, use an RS-485/RS-232 converter. The XMIT function supports either 2-wire or 4-wire connection under the 984LL and the IEC executives.

Hi Sajid, let me understand why are you still choosing so old equipments?

If you explained me what you need perhaps I could help you. Which kind of process? How many I/O? Which kind of network actually is present?
