We are systems integrators who deal primarily with ERP (WMS - MES - LIMS) software solutions. We recently contracted with one of our customers to acquire data from process PLCs. Unfortunately we have little to no experience configuring PLCs. As two of the machines were purchased from a Korean company, this is making things very difficult.

My customer is looking for a PLC expert to come on-site to his location and configure two PLCs for connectivity to an OPC server via RS232 or Ethernet. One of the PLCs is a Mitsubishi and the other is a Master-K.

The Mitsubishi (I was told) should be connected via Ethernet, which it does not currently have. The cost of this option is high as well as having a long lead time. I think RS232 may be better.

The Master-K already has an MMI interface and am not sure if we can connect to the other port. This PLC is more troublesome as there may not be an Ethernet interface available.

We are supplying him with the OmniServer OPC server. We are then connecting our own client to the OPC server.

Is anyone interested in an on-site job in Stratford CT? You would deal direct with the owner of the business and interface with me to make sure that we have connectivity to the OPC server > PLC.

If interested, please respond to this post and I will be e-mailed automatically .. or e-mail me direct at tom@valdatasystems.com
