Warning - Just a short rant after a crazy and hectic day.

Got an email back in October, like a lot of you I assume that Rockwell was changing things yet again that sometime after October 25th I'd receive a new pasword in the email and have to use my mile long email address as my user name rather than the nice short Nick Name I've used since 2001 on their sites.

That would have been inconvenient, but Ok, except today when I went to download firmware I found that although I received no email I needed a new password. And what's worse the knowledgebase still uses my old ID. So now what was one nice neat system is two.

END RANT

On the good side RA Tech Support was efficient, helpful and got it right the first time. Boy was I amazed.

Yes, I was a little confused about that too. I knew I could still login to knowledgbase as TWControls. So which logins changed?

When I first got it, it wouldn't let me in. I waited a couple days and tried again. Then it worked. The biggest hassle is that it defaults to your E-mail address now instead of whatever you want it to be. The only feature I see out of it is being able to look at the literature or catalog sections and go right to the shopping site to check the list price on a part. Other than that, it doesn't seem to add much value.

The whole Idea of needing a password to get to what should be public is ridiculous to me. We have spent so much money on the software that they should be bending over backwards to give us updates etc.
