First,, I'm new to the Modican stuff - AB man myself. I have a TSXMICRO PLC and a Magelis XBTGT HMI. I'm having trouble getting the two to communicate. I have no problem with getting online with the plc. The plc has a pcmcia card that is setup to communicate with a servo. This is working fine. The term / aux port is set to Unitelway, slave, 9600,8,1,odd. I set the HMI to the same. When the HMI reboots, it times out with and error like - PLC failed to respond in time. I tried this while being online, offline and in each port TERM and AUX. Anyone have any ideas / suggestions on thing to check? Thanks

Hi,
It can not works if you are slave both sides. Set the plc to Unitelway Master and it will be ok.

Turns out they were using the wrong cable / bad cable between the two. As a side note, there is no setting in the HMI to make it master or slave. I assumed it was always the master, is this correct?

Hi,
With Unitelway as protocol, the HMI is slave, that's why you need to set the plc as master, wich is the default choice.
