I'm wondering if the Memory Card Transfer tool can be loaded on a customers laptop without installing the full CX-Designer program. I need a way for the customer to upload the data log files easily using serial or USB connection, but I don't really want to give him the full program. Maybe there is a better way?? Ethernet is not an option.
I already have a standalone memory card tool for the PLC so I'm hoping the same is available for the NS. Opening up the control panel and removing the CF card is not a good option either.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

ESCI, better late than never. I don't think it is possible to separately install the Memory card transfer, as it uses CX-Server for comms.
What you could try though is install CX-One with only option CX-Designer selected, and once installed remove CxdExe.exe and nsd.exe from the CX-Designer installation folder.
Then just put a shortcut to the memory card tool on the desktop and remove the start menu programs folder.
A bit dirty but the result should be the same.

I am interested to see if this worked or not. Please update...

Sorry PdL I didn't see your reply until now. I haven't been on MrPLC much recently.

I did give the customer CX-Designer for his laptop. I didn't delete the CXDExe.exe or NSD.exe as you suggested but I did delete the shortcuts in the start menu.

I found out later that the memory card transfer program that I have used before for the PLC can also be used for the NS. I will be testing it next time on site. I'll let you know how it works.

I'll share this program here too but I'll have to ask the author first. It was written in VB.
