Hello Friends,

I am new to PLC field as well as even in community. I have little bitte idea but not more about plc. Now, i am working on Allen breadly PLC. My job is to do coding for MTR DCR (kind of drive which is going to be changed apperantely)which is kind of drives by festo.

For all these different drives, they are using one Protocall which is unique for all drives to access via PLC. This protocall consist of Output bytes(Set parameters) and Input bytes(Status parameters). I had assinged them and even ,logically whatever action i want i had done this.

But still , i have lots of problems with the that. LIke
1) drive doesnt detect the set parameters.
2) So, obvi status bytes dont show any action.

I have one request that if anybody have idea about this work ,then can you suggest me the manual(any guidance) for this kind of protocall dealing with plc to control drives. Even sample coding which is match with this , its ok.

In advance thanks for helping. helpsmilie.gif

You will need to post this in the section for Allen Bradley. You must also provide a lot more information concerning the devices you wish to control.

You should supply the following information:

1. Exactly which model of Allen bradly PLC are you using?

2. What is the method of communication between the PLC and the drive? RS232? Ethernet? Devicenet?

3. You need to provide a pointer (a URL) to the information for the drive. Preferably the information on the drive should be available in English for the majority of this forum's users.

Are you talking about a Festo electric positioner, MTR-DCI ?

You must provide additional information about the fieldbus you are using and the methods you have already attempted to communicate with these devices.

Yes, u r right. I m using RX Logix 5000 Controller with Device net. U r right that its Festo drive MTR DCI.
And as protocall, its called FHPP protocall which i shd use for programming in plc to control the positions, veloctict etc.

Please write in English or German. SMS slang is unprofessional.

Rockwell Automation uses a DeviceNet scanner configuration software package called RSNetworx for DeviceNet. If you can post the *.DNT file you are using, as well as a link to the Electronic Data Sheet for this Festo positioner, then Forum users might be able to help you learn about the configuration and use of this software tool and the RSLogix 5000 control environment.

Describe more about the configuration, and exactly what aspects of it do not work correctly.
