Hi i'm new to mr plc and this is my first post,
i've been working with slc500,s for a few years so i'm not too bad but i had a new task of backing up all the panelviews we have on site (mainly PV300) i know that i could just plug into each one to do this but all the allen bradleys on site are connected on a DH-485 network and i thought it would be a good teaching exersise to use the RIO passthrough although i keep failing, reading the help files in Panel builder 32 (version 03.82.00) it tells me i have to enable passthrough in the block transfer dialog in the comms setup dialog which i just cant find.

i have a test rig which i am trying to do it on first which is a 1747-L531E (5/05) and a 2711-T6C16L1 A E
i connected the two with a 232 lead on 485 protocol, i am connected to the proccesor with a 1747-UIC with a RS485 lead and am connected able to go online with RS logix 500 but am at a loss now.

Can someone please HELP...

I Have attached a screen print of my settings.

The Panelbuilder Help files refer to the passthru setting in the Panelbuilder program of the Panelview Display. my attached screen capture shows where to find the check box. You may have to make one more trip around the plant uploading the current program from each Panelview to your PC. Opening this with PB32 and applying the Passthru checkbox and then Downloading this new program to each Panelview. Once this is done you can utliize pass-thru.

Warning:
Pass thur needs to utilize part of the discrete I/O locations. Can't recall which ones, but the manual should call it out. If you use discrete I/O that competes with pass-thru results can be erratic.
