Here is my problem..

I have a IC693MDL330 120V output card. We have recently added an output to power a pilot light that will be turned on after logic is satisfied.. The problem is that my pilot light glows dim when the output is in the off state. What can I do to fix this besides using a relay from the output card to turn the light on???

Thanks

I am assuming that the IC693MDL330 is a typical AC output card that uses a triac ouput. If this is the case you have two options:

1. Add an interposing relay. 2. Add a burden resistor in parallel with the load sized in resistance to a value capable of bringing down the voltage resulting from the leakage current, but not so low as to create undue heat generation.

Jody,

Another option presuming you are using a 120 volt led or neon bulb would be to replace the pilot light whith one that uses a regular fillament type bulb. Preferably one with a stepdown transformer and a #755 bulb.
