I can simulate a screen with a virtual PLC. Is there a way to simulate a screen with an
actual PLC attached via the serial port?

Yes you can, from version 2 on. With questions on software capabilities it always helps to mention the version info!
See the CX-Designer users manual which you can access from the start menu programs folder of CX-Designer.
See chapter 4-13-2 "Debugging Screens and the User Program with the Actual PLC".

Hi Mike31

In CXProgrammer there is a icon for the simulator. Download the plc program to the simulator. In CX-designer there is a test icon select test to simulator and her you go.
