Sorry I could not find anything in the search for this. I have a MLX1200 communicating to a PV 550 using 232 (PIC)
1st question is can I split the signal to monitor the logic? I have looked into getting a DF1 port splitter but i don't think that will help.


2nd question is DH485 just a format that can be sent over RS232 or RS485. Just trying to remember why we added AIC+ to MLX to get them to a DH485 network with 5/05 and PVs.

DH485 is a proprietary RS485 comm protocol. The AIC+ converts RS232 to DH485. DH485 is 4 wire while RS232 is 2 wire communications.
