Hi,

I am a new user of the AB product.
I try to upload a PanelBuilder Program.
The A PanelView reference is 2711B5A2,
This PanelView has two DH-485 connection:
the first one DH-485 Communication Port who are link to a SLC500 (flat)
the second DH-485 SLC Programming port (RJ45)

When I connect my computer to the PIC Interface converter (1747-PIC).
I am not able to see my device with RSLinx, In my pic node I have only the @ 0 who are my computer.

I have check that the Panelview is connect at the @ 2.
Normaly the SLC has to be @1 and by default the computer his @0.

When I read the AB documentation they explain that I have to provide an external power supply to the DH-485 communication, with that I undestand this power is provided by the SLC500 1394 drive.

I am waiting for help thanks.
Gerry

It's the 1747-PIC that needs the power supply for its DH485 connection.
When connected to a SLC, the SLC provides the power. Another way to power the PIC is with an -AIC interface, which in turn requires 24VDC.
A 1394 drive won't power the PIC, however the 1394 and the PanelView will communicate without any additional power supplies.
