Hello,

I have almost decided to go with a ML 1100 because of the ethernet convenience. I can't seem to find any info about using MODBUS with the ethernet port 1. I see that port 0 (serial) supports MODBUS master/slave. Has anyone attempted this/had success?

Specifically, I am trying to attach some other gear to this PLC, which speaks MODBUS over TCP. It is a QSI operator interface panel.

Thank you,
Matt

Modbus is a serial communications protocol, unless your referring to the "Mod Bus" shown here:

It won't work on Ethernet. We have used Modbus with the 1100 With success.

Grooovy, man.

The MicroLogix 1100 only supports Rockwell's EtherNet/IP protocol on the Ethernet port. It does not support Modbus/TCP.

If your operator interface supports Modbus RTU Master on RS232 or RS485 serial, you can use the serial port on the MicroLogix 1100 as a Modbus slave.
