Anyone know of a simple method to protect a CX-Designer program from being accessed?
I have tried to acces "FILE" "Data Transfer Security" from the CX-Designer menu but the options are always greyed out and cannot be selected????
I would like to protect my CX-Designer program in a similar fashion available in CX-Programmer "PLC Properties" "Protection".
Any ideas/suggestions??
Currently using CX-Designer Version 2.032 with firmware Version 6.2 on an Model NS-10 TV0[]-V1.
From the CXD help:
QUOTE
Data security function (NS series only)
The security passwords can be now set for project data.
If project data for which a security password has been set are transferred to a PT, the security password is required before uploading. With this function, only users who know the password can obtain the data from the PT.
Furthermore, a password is required before downloading. This helps prevent data overwriting from mistaken download.
Never used it but it seems more like a hardware feature rather than a project file security protection.
I checked and it becomes available from system version 6.6, also with V1 hardware.
To upgrade the NS to system version 6.6, see program folder manual "How to recover or update the system prog. Ver6.6".
For disk file security I would compress the project files using WinRAR with password protection and toss the individual project files.
