I have SLC5, two ML1500s and 10" color Panelview on DH485 network via AIC+.
It takes sometimes several seconds for a bit change to be reflected on the screen.
Is it normal?
The network adapters are in Auto speed preset, the maximum node# is set correctly in all the nodes.
I did not count the tags in Panelview, but definitely well over 100.

Well, I guess it depends on what you consider to be normal. A DH485 network is relatively slow when compared to DeviceNET, for example. If you are looking for an IMMEDIATE response to a bit change, hard wiring is really the only way to get it. If you are willing to settle for a fairly quick response, DeviceNET is pretty darned fast. In my experience, DH485 is only good for messaging type communication (machine states, user setup screens, etc). It really isn't fast enough for any real-time I/O.
