Hi all!
I have constructed a system using SLC500 to monitor and control other equipment via Profibus DP. So SLC500 must run as master, other equipment (Beckhoff bus coupler, Siemens HMI…) run as slave. Because I can not find any module of Allen Bradlley that can operate as a Profibus master ( 1747 – APB can not run as master, so I use a Profibus DP scanner for SLC500 , that is SST-PFB-SLC of Woodhead Industries, Inc. Everybody think my solution is correct? By the way, I’ve never program for that module before!! smile.gif I hope everybody that has experience in working with Profibust and that module can help me to solve my problem. Thanks for your time!!

Try finding a SLC-500 that has been modified by ProSoft. You can do Modbus with some of their conversions, I'm not sure if they have done Profibus yeat or not.

It's worth a few minutes to search their site.

Definitely, the Woodhead/SST Profibus DP master module for the SLC-500 platform is the best way to interface Profibus DP networks to the SLC-500 controller.
