I was told that you and communicate with a Basic module with Hyperlink.
If so can someone give step by step instructions on how to do this.

Thanks

Don't know about step to step but I'll lay out the major steps.
1. You'll need an unused serial port on your PC. {Shut down the RSlinx Serial driver and any fax driver using the serial port}

2. Connect between PC and BAS module with a serial cable.

3. Open Hyperterminal with a direct connection to the serial port.

4. Once connected you should be able to send and receive data to the module, but you'll need PLC code to process the data.

Check out the manual for using an ASCII Terminal to create a program. Page 56 to start with. Hyperterminal becomes your ascii terminal.
