I'm a newbie to Control Logix stuff. Not really fond of it so far either. I'm trying to add some stuff to an existing application. Keeping with the same format as similar stuff, I tried to add a Function Block Sheet. It will not seem to let me while in Remote Run. I figured now I have to make offline edits and bring the process down to dump the newly edited program to the processor.

My question are: Is there any way of adding a Function Block Sheet online? If not, can we add Function Block Sheets with no name or function blocks so we can add stuff later?
rpraveenkum
what version of Rslogix 5k you are using ?

FBD online editing supports from Ver 11.10

what is processor type you are using, I am sure you can add the FBD routines online itself form ver 10 & above

I'm running RS Logix 5000 Ver 13.00 and according to the I/O configuration in Slot 1 the processor is a 1756-L61 Controllogix5561 Revision 13.3

I cannot answer your question as I very seldom deal with Function Block Diagrams. I am responding because I went thru much the same frustration you are encountering when I first went from PLC5 / SLC500 to Controllogix. Let me simply offer this bit of encouragement. As you learn the enhancements AB has made to program design and troubleshooting that are available in 5000 you will come to like the CLGX.

To do my own follow up..... After taking another look, I was basically overlooking the button to "edit function logic." At first glance I saw the button and "booty"umed it was to edit the current sheet. My bad.

Thanks guys,
