  1. Hello everyone, I am looking for tips and tricks how to upload a program from 1771-DMC CoProcessor. A client has a PLC-5/40B with CoPro Main Board (1771-DMC) sitting in slot 0. I was planning to install 1785-ENET into slot 0 and that's why I would need to know what program is inside the CoPro to be able to modify it in case we decide to move the CoPro to another slot and proceed with 1785-ENET install. I found a Rockwell knowledge base that the CoPro program can be uploaded using HyperTerminal. I was trying to connect to the channel 1 (9 pin port) of the CoPro module using 9600, 8, N, 1, Xon-Xoff settings, but I could never see OS-9 command prompt (never seen any symbol as an answer). I tried many other speeds as well as Hardware/None protocols but the CoPro did not respond. Does anybody have an experience how to connect to the CoPro? Any tips? Thank you in advance!
  2. Hello All, I have a PLC-5 sitting on DH+ network connected to Wonderware HMI through Logix5000 ENBT-DHRIO Bridge. HMI polls over DASABCIP. The topic has 4500 tags, 89 messages in DASABCIP. DH+ network is 57.6 kbps. It take up to 15-20 seconds to poll all 4500 tags which I believe is really slow. Can you, please, provide any statistics from your networks, how fast is your poll rate for what number of tags/messages? What do you think about 4500 tags takes 15-20 seconds to poll on DH+ - is it OK or really slow? Thanks a lot.
  3. Configuration Intouch with Historian

That's not right. You do not need any MS SQL for InTouch Data Logging. InTouch stored data in binary files. If you do not use System Platform then you will need to add InTouch tags to Historian manually (one by one or through Import).
  4. Thanks, koyeap. My system is Windows 2008 R2 which is not in the list. Though I tested Unity Pro on my test Server 2008 R2 machine and it worked fine. The other thing is that under Remote Desktop if I run Unity Pro under different user (under admin account) it does not start the software and gives me the same error.
  5. Wonderware DASABCIP disconnects

There was a tcpip.sys connection limit in Windows XP SP2. I am not sure if this is the case of the problem. Anyway, you can try search "Windows XP SP2 tcpip.sys connection limit patch" (on your own risk).
  6. Hi all! I need to install UnityXL 5.0 on Windows Server 2008 R2 for Remote Desktop Users (Thin Clients). I installed UnityXL 5.0, but none of my Remote Desktop Users can run the software. They get an error: >Failed to find a valid license! >Unexpected Error: One or more of the license components could not be loaded. >Please reinstall Unity Pro XL. The software is registered, I can run it under a local admin account. Does anybody know if there is something special how to install Unity Pro XL 5.0 on Windows Server 2008 R2 for RDP clients? Thanks.
  7. Inexpensive SCADA

You can also try Aspic/AspicMP from Merz/Kontron (http://shop.kontron-czech.com/InfoPage.asp?TP=FT&ID=29&CatID=398). PS. AspicMP is Client/Server(!) system. Development is free, demo runtime is 2 hours (resettable). Price for Aspic is about 1300$ for Unlimited Tags, price for AspicMP (server + 1 AspicMP client) is about 1750$ for Unlimited Tags + 130$ for each client. Quick and personal support (free).
  8. SCADA POLL

I vote for Wonderware because this is my main tool for over 4 last years, but it is rather expensive for simple solution. Also I'd like to draw attention to Aspic/AspicMP of Merz (www.merz-sw.com) - cheap and good-enough SCADA, good and quick personal support.
  9. ODBC Connection in Intouch

I am wondering why you want to do this over ODBC? InTouch can read values from Excel and can write values to Excel. Excel can read and write values of InTouch via DDE. Are InTouch and Excel located on the same computer?
  10. Mitsubishi connection with InTouch

As I know there is Mitsubishi FX Net DASserver. http://www.wonderware.com/support/mmi/esup.../DASMTFXNet.pdf http://www.wonderware.com/support/mmi/comp...SMTFXNet1.0.zip Maybe it will be helpful.
  11. Wonderware Tag Dictionary Filter Tool

As I know the default InTouch filter is "<none>", it shows all the tags. All other filters are user-made, so as "*". Sometimes I create my new filter with name beggining with "_", because it stay first in the filter list and this filter now is using as first, so I see only these tags that relate to this filter and I can easily modify only needed tags. After modifying I just delete this filter.
