I am investigating the possiblity of using an IM151-8 for an application that I have verified I can do with an S7-214 (224XP) processor, for the connection to profinet. In order to meet the requirements of the application, I had to use the immediate output coil [--(I)--] in several places in my test program. I do not see this instruction in the Step 7 Pro instruction list. Am I missing something or does the S7-200 series do something important that the more "full featured" S7-300 stuff does not? I am waiting to hear from the hotline...

I expect someone will come back with a method for it, but I've only used the S7-200. I would imagine its just different in the larger PLCs, not that its not there.

The guy from the hotline explained that there is no bit instruction for immediate update. Must do a move (byte, word or double word) from memory to the output address with a P. i.e. MOV MB0 PQB0 (using MB0 as an "image" for the desired value of the outputs). I tried it and it works.
