Migration from C60H

8 posts in this topic

First of all, I'd like to say hello to all of you. This is my first post here. I'm not well experienced in Omron products and I need a little help from you. My client has an old machine with Omron C60H PLC, He asked me the make the backup of the program and put the newer PLC. I'm thinking of using CP1L series (or CJ2 - not sure of it now). The question is, what accesories do I need to connect and upload program from C60H to my PC? I heard that the 3G2a6-LK201 module is adequate. Do I need something else? I'm using CX-programmer. Can I handle uploading program from C60H with this software? Is there a function that converts old program to newer version compatibile with CP1L or CJ2 series, or must it be done manually? If you have any tutorials or tips and tricks about migrating from C60H to newer series of Omron, I would very appreciate it. Thanks in advance, Marcin Edited by Mar170

"The question is, what accesories do I need to connect and upload program from C60H to my PC? I heard that the 3G2a6-LK201 module is adequate. Do I need something else?" You need this cable. C500 - CN221-EU.pdf "I'm using CX-programmer. Can I handle uploading program from C60H with this software? Is there a function that converts old program to newer version compatible with CP1L or CJ2 series, or must it be done manually?" CX-Programmer does not support C60H. You need a previous software called Syswin. Find it on the web.

Yes but can not upload or download from CxxK series. Never heard about CxxH before but I figure it's the same.

Yes I know but I mean when he has uploaded from the C60 with Syswin he can open an convert the file in CX-Programmer to CP1L. It will probably leave some errors, but I expect the majority of the code to be preserved.

I never doubted that you know that, that was just to make it clear for the Op.

Thank you for all answers. Is there any way to run SYSWIN on 64bit Windows? When I asked Omron support about this, they said CX-Programmer is only tool I need. Maybe they were wrong. Thay said I can use option "Tools -> C500/C120/CxxP Support -> Backup from PLC". The another name of 3G2a6-LK201 module is C120-LK201-EV1, so maybe it will work with the option that I mentioned above. What do you think about this?

1) In order to run syswin on WIN7 64 BIT you need to install microsoft virtual XP you can download it for free from microsft http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/install-and-use-windows-xp-mode-in-windows-7 then you can install syswin on xp 2) you might need USB TO RS232 CONVERTER 3) RUN SYSWIN and upload the program from C60H C60H has Built-in RS232 there is no need for any adapter but the cable is Different 9pin ------ 9 pin male 2------------------2 3------------------3 5------------------7 (not 9) 4-5 Short at plc 7-8 Short at computer 4) upload the program and save it then change the plc type to CPM2 (This will convert all internal relay like 18.13 to 253.13 P_On) 5) open the file with CXprogrammer *.SWP save it as *.cxp and convert it to CP1L-60 6) Replace IO to Match the new IO of the CP1L FIRST THE OUTPUTS out 1.00-1.07 ---> 100.00-100.07 1.08-1.11----> 101.00-101.03 and more THEN INPUT IN 0.00-0.11----->0.00-0.11 0.12-0.15 -----> 1.00-1.03 and more
