ADEPT Six 300 Encoder error

3 posts in this topic

We have Adept Six 300 robot and belt broke on one of the joints. Disconnected motor and encoder leads/connectors to remove the motor to replace belt. Didn't know that battery back up has to be connected to keep the encoder position. Now we are getting E5 (joint 5) error. How can I reset the error and how to reteach the home position. Thanks

@teal854t I have the same issue with my Adeptsix 300. The encoder batteries were dead so we replaced them with new ones, but I get the error "Encoder fault" for all six motors. Have you been able to fix his issue?

Like another robot, you'll probably need to "Master" all the axis's.  Find the Adept Manual and do the mastering.  Normally requires the use of a pendant and manually driving each motor to the mastering mark and then the encoders are then zero'ed out.
