Posted 12 Mar 2011 (edited) Is it possible to access files on the Memory card in a CJ1 for reading and writing *.CSV files with parameters in it? I use CX Supervisor V2 Thanks Edited 19 Mar 2011 by AC DC
Posted 15 Mar 2011 Hello AC DC I hate to see a thread with no replies, so here's an idea... I've never done this, but the files on the CF card can be accessed via FTP. Would it be possible to invoke an FTP client from within CX-S and get to the files this way? I don't think FTP functionality is built-in to CX-S, so embedding a third-party piece of software may work? I'd be interested to hear any results! Pp
Posted 18 Mar 2011 Hi, In addition to Pp's help, I've got 2 ideas: 1. The obvious one, is to write to CF from the PLC, and maybe trigger that (with parameters if necessary) from CX-Supervisor 2. Failing that - you can use the "CXServer.UploadProgram" to also upload files from (the ROOT ONLY) of the memory card. Checkout the syntax in the Script Reference manual Appendix B. Hey there's a DownloadProgram too Thank should do the trick! Regards, BB
Posted 19 Mar 2011 Sorry for the late response, I was 1 week in the UK for work. The first solution will work, because I already read/write the files with the PLC from/to the MC card. I'm making an extra read/write routine triggerd by CX-Supevisor to manage the parameters (100 programs with 400 DM and 50 HR words), so I can manipulate them in CXS and put them back on the card The second solution I will try also, but that will take a little longer Thanks,
Posted 19 Mar 2011 An other way of doing it: Use the Communications Utillity : PLC Memorycard.... tool in CXS, copy the file to a directory accessed by CXS. Then you can do what you want to do and put it back again on the memorycard using the same tool. Sometimes life can be easy. Regards,
Posted 19 Mar 2011 excellent! Where's this tool, ACDC?
Posted 19 Mar 2011 If CX-S is active and connected to a PLC with a memorycard, then: right mouse click, Choose: Communications Utilities > PLC Memorycard... You get access to the memorycard, like with CX-Programmer.
Posted 19 Mar 2011 Sorry about the topic name! I ment the memorycard in the PLC and not the MC(H) option board. AC DC (Low voltage)
