  2. Windows 7 PC to Switch

Try enabling Compatibility mode or try Firefox/Chrome. Just grabbing at straws
  3. ML 1100/1400 to Access/SQL

You should check Ignition by Inductive Automation. The OPC server is free and they have a SQL Bridge to do exactly what you want. www.inductiveautomation.com
  4. Transfer Supplemental Library to CX9000

I eventually figured it out, needed a remote ce viewer, kinda like remote desktop to actually get it installed. Thanks
  5. Transfer Supplemental Library to CX9000

Hi Guys, I have a CX9000 I want to set up as an Ethernet/IP slave, but how do I transfer the library to the CX9000 and install it?
  6. The answer to my Rslogix5000, RSVIEW32 questions

RSView32 can program any tag, either controller scoped or program scoped. I will dig up an example, but you can browse to program tags in the opc browser of RSView32. I know this is possible with RSLinx and Kepware
  7. Free OPC datalogger ideas

    1. I agree with Ken, so cirtain circumstances, i believe CSV datalogging is a very good idea. However, my plants run historical data to MySQL every second right now anyways, so it isnt a big need for me. 2.I definately this a wide table is the way to go. Based of of my experiences, and previous descussions with other integrators, wide tables work significantly faster than tall tables. We were once trending PID history every second for 60 pid loops, and the number of rows was quite significant(in the 5.x million rows a day). As you can imagine, switching to a Wide table with columns for every value helps our query times drop. As Nathan stated, it doesnt matter how you key it, it still takes longer then wide tables. I think there is definately a need for a free datalogger, as we are in the 21st century lol. Logging to a dbase file, excel or god forbid, Access just doesnt make sense to me when there are significantly better options, such as MySQL
  8. Hart Interface with 1756-IF8H

    so anything?
  9. Hart Interface with 1756-IF8H

I have been wanting to swap out a bunch of IF16s at my plants for some time, but havent yet because i did not think this was possible. Can you post part of your program for others to use?
  10. Ethernet is Fun......Not

I had a similar experience with 2 PLC5s talking DH+.. The programmer before I had both plcs reading, or writing, i cant remember, to one another. Once there was a significant amount of msgs being used, we ran into the same problem. To help alleviate some of the issue, we triggered the messages at certain intervals. We then moved all communication to one plcs, so the it writes data to the other plc, and reads data from it, with no message blocks on the other plc. This helped tremendously. I dont know if it will help with this issue, but it might be something to look at.
  11. CLX data transfer to MS SQL

I have used both RSSQl and FactorySQL from Inductive Automation, and FactorySQL is very easy to use, and very powerful. If you need 2 way data, this is what u need to use.
  12. Shouldnt be a problem. Are you using RSLinx as the OPC server? I have a facility using RSLinx with RSView32 talking to 20 some compactg logix plcs over wireless ethernet radios. Wokrs fine. One word of advie though, if you are ever using more then one RSView system talking to a single logix processor, make sure you use a version of RSLinx that supports remote OPC, as Logix systems apparently dont like more then one version of RSlinx communicating with it
  13. Why not just update to v16, it has a add-on SCP instruction. or use a CPT using the following equation (Raw_In-Raw_Min)/(Raw_Max-Raw_Min)*(EU_Max-EU_Min)+EU_Min
  14. RSL5K v16 1756-IF16 Problem

Yeah you are correct, it is not a v16 problem. i flashed a test processor back to 13 and checked on that, and the problem still existed. Im not an electrician, but i will have them check on monday. Thanks.
  15. I am having this problem at 2 facilities recently updated to v16. All the Even inputs from the IF16 cards are failing high and all the odd inputs are failing low. The reading are also way off when there is an input hooked up to the card. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?
