Hello, Wonder if any one could please let me know if I am on the righr track. I am really Omron proficient but have had to part master the one Step 7 machine we have in our factory. The CPU is 313C and I have connected a Omron NS HMI screen using the Siemens converter 6ES7-972-0CA11-OXA0. The problem is that we need to connect the HMI and at the same time be able to connect on line using our Laptop. To this end I am about to install a 313C-2DP CPU in place of the 313C. I know that one port is MPI and one port is Profibus or DP am I correct in thinking that the HMI will connect vis MPI as it does now and I will need to configure my USB Connector 6ES7-972-0CB20-0XA0 to connect via Profibus. Although looking in the ways of connecting there is a setting for USB Auto. I am a little nervous about the setting up etc but am sure I will get there. My main concern is configuring the two ports.
