Remote I/o Analog Inputs

2 posts in this topic

I have an SLC plc with a 5/03 processor. I have established a remote I/O network and I have two half racks connected to it. The first rack consists of four 110V 16 digital input cards. The second rack is made up of two 110V 16 digital input cards and two 8 channel analog input cards. I have the two racks communicating properly and I can see all of my digital inputs. The question I have is how do I set up my analog cards. I think there is a Block Transfer Read and Write I have to use but I don't know how to set it up. Also I don't know how I would go about addressing the analog inputs as I want to show the speed of four motors with me having a 4 – 20mA input for each motor. My analog input cards are IO words 10 and 11 on my G-Data. I have attached my I/O configuration. Any help would be greatly appreciated. VALLEY.RSS

TechJunki, since he is using RIO, the only think in the conguration file is the scanner module. I see that the 5/03 is a series "C", so you can use Block transfers for the remote analog. This AB technote, should help: http://domino.automation.rockwell.com/appl...95?OpenDocument Also Ron Beaufort gave an excellant explaination over at plc.net, here's the link: http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/showthread.php?t=18841
