  1. ControlLogix cards

try searching for 1756-GPS? that gets results on google
  2. Allen Bradley make a power monitor HERE i have not used it so cant really comment on how good it is but it does support ethernet, i looked into it a whild back but compared with a standard item with pulse output, which is all i really needed, they were way more expensive. cheers myles
  3. i take it they are all connected on DH+? you could just fit a panelview on one PLC via the serial port and message the data over DH+ to the PLC with the HMI for this a PV550 from AB or maybe a G3 from red lion? cheers myles
  4. PV+600 Application

you can not run the .mer file on your computer, it is the runtime file for the pv+. you can however use the transfer utility in rsview me to transfer it to the panelview. you also can not make changes to the .mer file. you would need the .apa file to make changes. there is a way to convert the .mer file to .apa but i have had no luck in attempting this, maybe others have.
  5. In the logix pro simulator right click on one of your instructions, select, edit description(or something like that it has been a while) and type in something like START_BUTTON, STOP_BUTTON, MOTOR_CONTACTOR, ETC this will make your logic much easier to understand both for us and you.
  6. Sounds good, think we can pettition AB? Or is that just the big players?
  7. On a tank system, running pumps the norm would be to at least fit low level probes for run dry protection on the pumps. As for high levels good to prevent overfilling, spillages etc. The pressure transmitter on the vessel is a good idea but not so easy to use as high and low levels, it can drift over time, products with different SG would give different switch points and it can also fail. As for a controller there are many many choices, depending on how you intend to use the system would depend on your choice. any operator interface etc?
  8. the .apa file needs converting into a Runtime application this is the .mer file. When using RS View ME and you finish developing the application you select "create runtime application". This converts the .apa file into a .mer. Then using the transfer utility you can download the .mer file If you just wanted to hold the apa. file in the panel view, you could remove the internal flsah card and using a flash card reader/writer copy the .apa file onto it. the .mer files are in a folder called runtime. try creating an other folder like back_up. I feel this is a bit over the top to hold a back up. and i just store them in serveral places like company server, pendrive etc. Hope that helps myles
  9. Hi, I have a panel view plus on site and after reading the artical I fancy a go at changing the screen saver. My Panel View does not have a compact flash card at the moment, I looked into buying an AB one aprox £200. A normal one is about £5. Can anyone tell me if it needs to be an AB one? Thanks in advance Myles
