Hi,
Wonder if anyone can help me.
I log on to Supervisor on to 3 CJ1Ms CPU 11 using Hostlink via AL 01 RS 232 convertor to a PC using Com port 1 I think one of our operators must have turned the PC off the other day and the RS 232 plug on to the Com Port was out when I try to reconnect it wont allow me to on any of the 3 PLCs I have checked the wiring the AL 01 is okay and the cable connecting the PC to the AL 01 is okay has anyone got any ideas could the settings within the PLC have changed.

Are all the COM ports still the same, sometimes unplugging the converters change the COM ports although I don't know the device you are using. Check in Device Manager (Control Panel) which ports are being used.

Hi Keda
I am just connecting to com Port 1 using a baud rate of 125200 bytes the device manager says that the com port is working fine. I uninstalled the driver for the com port and reinstalled but still not connecting I have tried connecting to a lap top using a usb serial port connector but still no connection I will try conncting individually using the normal hostlink cable to each PLC downloading the settings and then try with the original PC its a strange one.

Hello,
On shift this afternoon I rechecked all the wiring, connected from the pc to a plc using the Omron lead so that is okay. I decided to uninstall CXP and Supervisor, have reinstalled CXP tried to connect last thing and got message Already Connected To Another Port normaly if this happens I uninstall Com Port 1 Driver and when I reinstall it it connects will try again tomorrow. Am sure its a coruption somewhere.

How are you saving/storing the IO Table and Unit Setup?

Hi.
I am basically using 3 CJ1M PLCs calling them units 1,2 and 3 respectively nothing has really changed it was all connected up until 29th August when I came back fro holiday I found that the PC that I use for logging and Hostlink connection must have been restarted which means that Supervisor turns off and the lead connecting the PC rs232 TO THE AL 01 RS232 RS422 converter was unplugged I hadnt altered any of the settings within the PLCs.

Switching the PC off SHOULD not have any affect on the PLC setup.

Is it just the SCADA that cannot connect, or can you not connect to the PLC's utilizing the same comm's method?

Is cx-programmer installed on the same pc?

And then for the most simple of questions, have you to red re-starting the SCADA PC?

No I cant connect to the PLCs at all.SCADA and Hostlink are connected to the same PC I have been asking my company for a seperate PC for a while because every time the PC is rebooted for updates I have to reconnect because they never tell me before they shut the PC down , everything including CXP is on the same PC I have uninstalled Supervisor v3 until i manage to connect the 3 PLCs
