  1. I am stuck up with a problem that i am unable to get power from versamax 23 PLC to power up my input.First i was able to do that but now there is no power output from plc. I was working on analog channels .When i connected my externall power supply to power up my plc, voltage dropped and current went to very high value, indicating that circuit is short and plc was not getting on.I checked my PLC carefully and removed all the wire connected to it so that the there is no possibility of short.but still there was high current indication on power supply.I dont know what happened .I want to fix that problem.can anyone tell me how i can fix this. I checked the diagnostic variables from handbook and checked ,some of diagnostic variables were getting high indicating there is a problem inside plc.Below are the diagnostic variables there were getting high. 1:Sa0011: low_bat ( i have connected no backup battery, flash memory) 2:%SC0009: any_flt (any fault) When i connect PLC to another power supply,it gets on but it gives no output from its output terminals.the power supply that was indicating problem (not running my plc) is an expensive and good quality power supply(it is working good with other things except my plc.) when i power inputs from eternal power supply they are ok.Can any one help me out what should i do now. Please reply as soon as i have to meet a dead line and i need to fix this problem today. just 2 hours before this problem i connected a resistance(70k) between negative and positive terminal of analog input .my pressure transmitter readings were fluctuating (0,8,16).when i connected this resistance, the fluctuation stopped .the resistance was connected and i was getting values.after 2 hours this happened. PLz reply as soon as possible.
  2. grounding and fluctuation

i have done a lot f experimentation regarding the ground of the power supply and transducer, the fluctuations due to different ground levels of the power supplies are signaficantly higher. what i noticed was that when my PLC was disconnected from its power source, and while i was unscrewing the analgue input screws i felt a bit of charge/current(because i got a minor shock.) now the only reason i could think of was that this charge was comming through the programming cable which was connected to my PLC and PC the cable i made myslf and where it said ground i just let those wires be free now my question to you all is is it possible that the fluctuations are being caused by the programing cable. and what to do with the ground wire ? am i to connect them with each other?
  3. grounding and fluctuation

yes the analog wiring is shielded.is it possible to completely vanish that fluctuation
  4. I am using Danfoss MBS 3100 Pressure transmitter 0-4 bar as analog input with VERSAMAX PLC, i have used a AWG 26 wire to connect the pressure transducer with the PLC. While monitoring the analog data ,there is continuous fluctuation in analog data.Bits (0-32767) continuously fluctuate.First ,the fluctuation was higher, but after using the same power source(the source used to power the PLC, then using the 24 VDC from PLC to power my transducer) the fluctuation has been significantly diminished,it fluctuates between 0 and 8 (at no pressure).I want to get rid of that fluctuation. What should i do? what kind of grounding have i done? i have grounded the PLC to my power supply, and then grounded the pressure transducer to the same power supply... there is one confusion though, in the MBS 3100 literature it says that ground the transducer wire to the enclosure of the transducer, i dont know what this means, there are 4 connections in the MBS 3100 available out of which 3 are to used, one of them being ground, so am i to take this wire and wrap it around the enclosure???
  5. I want to ask about cmore data logging.i want to log digital data(such as model no,Pass/fail) along with analog data. How to do this via cmore data logging.can i do this in line trend or PID trend graph,as both the graphs are used to log analog data. And can anyone tell me an easy alternate software for data logging that can solve my problem.

  8. error displayed on hmi

Steve, a strange glitch has occurred. i am unable to connect to plc via proficy machine edition.I have checked the cable properly but the cable is ok. last time i have downloaded the progam on it through port 1 with SNP Master configuration(on Port 1). Do you think this might be problem. And steve can u tell me how i can reset my plc (versamax) to factory settings. is it possible that i can use port 2 for programming.Which is DB 15 (for which i will be needing a configuration of DB15-DB9).
  9. error displayed on hmi

i am using viewjet cmore software. it lists GE 90-30(SNPX) only
  10. error displayed on hmi

i changed the the Cmore's default settings. I set (19200 baud, odd parity).Still the error is present. Are these settings right.or can u tell me what settings should i use
  11. error displayed on hmi

Thanks steve. Only Tx LED is blinking. While RXD is continuously on. We have set SNP Master in the Configuration of serial port( Serial port with RJ45 connector). We have made cable by own.The cable has one RJ 45 end and one DB15 end. We have got the wire configuration from Cmore document. The link for document is (Go to 6-27) http://www.automationdirect.com/static/manuals/eauserm/ch6.pdf

steve ,one more question ,would i needing a ge snpx driver.while configuring serial ports, the snpx option is not there.
  13. error displayed on hmi

Thanks steve. one thing more i would like to discuss with you is that when selecting for plc protocol in cmore software, there was no option of our plc (Ge versamax).there was an option of 90-30(SNPX).we have to choose an option.so we chose this option. Do u think this might be a problem. If yes than what should i do.
  14. error displayed on hmi

hi everyone. i am trying to connect my ge versammax 23 with cmore hmi.while trying to connect ,an error " plc-499 error code 0x0000 returned from plc" is displayed on the hmi. i am unable to understand it. can any body help me out on this.
  15. interfacing of cmore HMI and GE PLC

I have a GE fanuc versamax micro 23 point PLC, and a Cmore 6 inch HMI. i mean to interface the two and develope a screen for the HMI. how am i supposed to accomplish this? which software should i use, will i need an OPC server? i am already using versamax pro for programming the PLC, now how do i proceed? what interfacing will be needed and what will be the order of sequence for programming and interfacing?
