What's wrong with the forum lately?

is it just something I'm doing wrong - or is it no longer possible to paste text from a Microsoft Word document into the forum editor? ... I've always typed up my posts in Word - and then just pasted the text into the forum's Full Version editor ... after the "upgrade" I can't find a way to do that anymore ... I stumbled onto the "Theme" setting at the bottom of the page - and if I go to "Mobile" mode I can do the paste operation ... also ... PLEASE tell me that there's some way to alter the new pastel screen colors ... this "modern" light-gray-on-white text that everyone seems so hung up on lately is murder on my 68 year-old eyes ... is there a setting that will just put things back to the way they used to be? ... finally, when I try to attach a picture file to a post, I click the "Add to Post" button - and I don't see the old familiar placeholder that used to be inserted ... the picture gets attached at the end of the post - but I haven't been able to find a way to pick a specific point to attach it to like I used to be able to do ... thanks ... I wrote this sentence in Word, then pasted it in just using Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V. I wrote this sentence in Word, then pasted it in using the Paste From Word button. Both methods above work fine for me. I'm using Chrome browser, Office 2013 and Windows 8.1. What are you using?

thanks for the reply ... I'm using Internet Explorer 11 ... Windows 7 Pro - SP1 - 64 bit ... like I said - maybe it's just me - but I used to be able to easily paste from Word right into the editor before the forum got updated ... the pastel colors are the worse thing though ... I have to turn off the lights - and even close the blinds if it's sunny outside - in order to see some of the stuff on the screen ... yes, I know that I'm old - but I'm still kicking ... thanks again ...

I admit I'm struggling a bit with the new forum too. I'm not sure if it is the new colors or I'm getting set in my ways. I'm typing this message in OpenOffice Writer since I don't have Microsoft Word on this computer. Let's throw a link in here. Well I tried IE11 and I couldn't post because of some security token problem. Got that fixed then couldn't paste out of notepad. So here are my results on my IE11 test posted with Chrome.

So it looks like the Copy/Paste issue is related to Internet Explorer. Just another reason to stop using it! As far as the colour scheme goes, my young eyes don't have as much trouble reading, but it's a little blah... Try sending a message to the site admins, asking them to add a a colour theme option (light/dark/colour)

Looks like there was an update released for the forum software today that should fix the Internet Explorer copy and paste error.
