PanelView 600 Software

I need to upload a program from a 2711-T6C8L1 PanelView 600, not a PanelView Plus terminal. What software is needed? Can I use FactoryTalk View Studio ME for this? I see in the dropdown it only lists PV+ terminals, thats why I ask. Also what is the interface to the PC? Serial? Thanks for any help.

Your PV supports DH+ protocol to connect to a PLC. Your PLC will need to support DH+ protocol. You can upload/download its program thru its serial port (RS232 port) using a straight thru cable. The RS232 port cannot be used to communicate with a PLC. Edited 24 Oct 2014 by Mickey

Thanks for that. Is the protocol to upload/download through the serial port DF1? Should it be picked up by rslinx when browsing for devices?

Yes, DF1 if the port has not been configured for a printer. ( default is DF1). When using the RS232 DF1 devices driver autoconfigure should work. Edited 24 Oct 2014 by Mickey
