Absolute encoder E6F-C

Hello Guys, In my projects I used incremental encoders with the md212 module and that have been ok until now. Now I need to use an absolute encoder, E6F-C from omron, but I cannot find the module to connect to CJ2M and encoder together. I can connect directly to inputs from the PLC but I do not know if this is the best way to do it because I will spent extra 9 inputs (9 bit absolute encoder). Can somebody give me some tips on how to connect abs encoder to CJ2M? Regards

the only way I know of how to connect that model of encoder to the PLC is how you have said, via the standard inputs. cant remember if that encoder is grey scale... but I recall a sample PLC program in one of the PLC manuals (CQM1 I think) on how to decode grey scale into a dec number. all the best with it
