C200H analog input

7 posts in this topic

Hi ALL I am working on a fruit squeeze machine. The machine is using a c200h cpu03. The machine was working...but after two months pause they tried to start up again and here is what is happening. Machine does everything in manual mode or in auto mode except when it needs to increase the pressure or create vacuum nothing happens. There is only one pressure sensor on the machine and I thing that there is the problem. I have tested the the sensor and it is working giving me 9 m amps at atmospheric pressure. ( this is normal I have checked... I increased the pressure and is moving so I think this is ok.) The analog input AD001 looks good but not 100% sure. Unfortunately I can only get connect with the PLC with the hand held programmer PRO27 . I am attaching you the ladder programming if someone can check and tell me. The unit number setting switch on the AD001 where should be set? The AD001 according to the program has to be placed on a specific channel on the base? or can be placed on any channel? Is there a way to see analog input with the PRO27 real time to see if the analog input is working? I have upload the ladder prog. it is made in syswin. if you can't open it please rename it to .prg and open it in syswin. Thank you very much in advance 70pcl.cxp

I've uploaded the manual for the AD001. See pages 15 & 16 for the unit number setting and address. Using your PRO27, search for CH 101 or 111 or 121, etc... This will correspond to Unit 0, Unit 1, Unit 2, etc... This address will contain your real time analog conversion. I would check your program but I don't have Syswin available at the moment. As far as switching the slots on the backplane, This would depend upon the I/O table in the PLC. I would try this last.

Hi One last question. Is it possible to check the I/O table with PRO27 and if yes what are the commands. Thank you

Yes. Here is the C200H Operation Manual. See page 66. This PLC is very old. The manual shows the operation using the PRO27. It's been more than 20 years since I've performed any I/O Table operations with this PLC. A couple of notes: - If the I/O table is registered and it does not match (or you have a bad card) then the PLC will show an ERROR or an ALARM. I do not believe this is you issue. - In most cases, you do not need to Register the I/O table for the these older PLC's. I don't remember if this is the case if you are using Special I/O. (The AD001 is considered 'Special I/O'). Maybe someone else in these forums will know. Anybody? Are you seeing a changing value in CH. 101? Have you physically measured the input to the AD001?

Hello! Thank you very much again for your support. After reading page 66 in the manual that you sent. I just went through the I/O table with PRO27 and then just by not doing anything else i was able to read ch101. I still haven't tested on the machine but I am quite confided that it will work. Thank you

You are welcome. I'm glad to here you are making progress. Did you "Verify" the I/O table or did you "Register" it? I guess it is possible that it is required since the AD001 requires higher memory. I would suggest that you get a copy of CX Programmer and make a backup of your program and all your "DM" memory. Contact your local distributor and they may be able to do this for you if they are able. The C200H PLCs are very durable but they are also very old. Many things could happen that would require a backup.

Finally tested and working on machine thanks again!!! I Didn't register anything but as soon as I looked into the I/O table with the pro27 hand held programmer strangely everything was there. After that the 101 analog input was showing action with pressure change in the pro27 ch101. Thanks great job......
