  1. Good afternoon, I am not familiar with this particular animal so could someone please tell me what cable I need to do file transferring from my PC to a Panelview 300 - model K3A10L1? Is this a DF1 protocal also... Thanx Mitch p.s. I am using Panelbuilder32 (of which I "think" is correct)
  2. PLC-2

I totally agree about the infringement and copyright protection, etc... I know that I used that software in the early 80's and actually just assumed that almost "noone" used it anymore, sincerely... Considering also that there was a third party or second, considering how we look at it, software currently available I really just expected the 'ol 6200 and or Icom to be a dead horse and in a shareware "sort of" venue as it were... Seems a shame, honestly, to have these dinosaurs in these old racks that noone (but me I guess) uses and the software is still out of my budgetary reach. Well I suppose it is what it is. Kind of like a record, the royalties will always keep comin'... Thanks again, Mitch
  3. PLC-2

Thanks for the reply, I had seen that software but it's close to 500 bucks.... ouch.... I'm sure it's worth every penny but I was actually just hoping to find something lying around for it shant be used anywhere 'cept for the 'ol garage and I truly would like "not" to spend any more than I absolutely have to.... Again, thanx for the reply and help.
  4. I have an old PLC 2/15 that I would like to use for a garage project... Does anyone know where I can secure either AB 6200, ICOM, or any other old software that I can use to get into this dinosaur. I know there are a lot of newer and cheaper stuff out there but I've got it and with the economy (at least mine) in its state I'd sure like to keep the $$$ down if at all possible.
  5. operator interface software for Keyence PLC

We are using a Keyence VT2-5m HMI connected to a Mitsubishi Aish PLC. The software for the keyence is called VT Studio VT3-HIE. The programming cable is a standard USB. I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for, for Keyence also has a PLC and their own mini HMI (If that's what you want to call it) I haven't used those particular Keyence products for some years. Hope that helps a little.
  6. Thanks for the info bikerdude. I did a little research and found that the "caret" is ,I believe, used for just that. Now all I have to do is figure out how to incorporate all those little command with the slc to be recognized by the Mdrive. Have a good one Mitch
  7. Hello all, I'm not an Allen-Bradley guy so this is way out of my league but here goes. I have a piece of equip that we've just purchased that utilizes a SLC5/03 and a MDrive micro stepper motor by IMS which is connected to the Slc via the serial port which in turn goes through a RS232 to RS485 converter. The program is using the ST registers of which I'm sure you know. My question is this. I've been looking into the ST register commands to and from the Mdrive and I don't understand any of them. Where or how do I go about finding out how to understand what's happening. I understand the Ascii string and the conversions to the appropriate Integers but I've no idea or where to find what the commands mean and why they are where they are. I have the info on the Mdrive and it's command references are completely different then the Allen-Bradley ones I'm seeing in the ST reg. In other words where would one find what "Shift 6 (I don't know what they call that character) M and another Shift 6? I guess I just don't see how the AB is communicating with the Mdrive. There's a command on ST103:0 then again @ ST103:5, etc.... Sure hope someone can help 'cause I feel very lost.
  8. Position control software

Hello all, We have just aquired some equipment from Japan. One of the Plc's has a positional controller A1SD75P1-S3 connected and working. The reps or tech's as it may be are telling us that we need to purchase the software and cable for this device. My question is simply why? I'm not sure as to what the software would do other than set up parameters that can't be set up using to and from statements. Just curious. This piece of equipment has been in operation in Japan for quite some time and we're kind of budgeting our funds for the moment and for this reason I don't see the urgency in the purchase. I'd still like to know what the software has to add. I do know that it's Gx-Configurator-AP and, again, I'm guessing that it sets up some parameters but I thought that the resolution, acc, dec, vel, etc was set up by the TO statements. Any ideas. I'd be greatful 'cause I'm confused.
  9. GxDeveloper 8.55H

Did a clean install and have never had any mitsubishi software till now. Also installed the environment. I've emailed Mitsi tech support and received no response. I've tried the same software on 2 different laptops and it works just fine. Just doesn't like my desktop. Actually our equipment engineer tried installing it on his laptop and it didn't work either. His laptop is a brand new IBM think pad using Windows XP sp2, dual core 2g, etc. The software installs but just errors out when trying to run. Someting about a .dll file. (dnavi.dll). At a loss here but thanx
  10. GxDeveloper 8.55H

Patches up to date, I do not have administrative rights and we are running Trend Officescan micro. The odd part is that I have the exact same programs and rights or lack thereof on my laptop and GX runs just fine on it. I'll see if our IT guy can install it. Maybe you're correct and for some odd reason with the laptop I just got lucky. Don't know. p.s. Windows XP Pro SP2
  11. I am trying to modify an exisiting password but for some reason when I load the change back into the Panelview it doesn't acknowledge this but instead resorts back to the original password. I've added text and alarms and they work just fine. Just no security change. Any ideas or thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?
  12. Whoops, I actually have RsLogix 5000 Enterprise installed (never use it).... Perhaps that may have something to do with this problem... ? hmmm. Guess I'll uninstall and find out. Thanx again. The irony is that my desktop works just fine with both software packages. Strange.
  13. No enterprise, but I've gone from 2.42 to 2.53, 2.54 classic to 2.54OEM. Think I might've overloaded? Going to check the reg for erronious rslinx's... Spending much to much time on this and no time on the main programming that I really need to get done. Rather irritating but what to do. Appreciate the feedback and I hate tar personally... Thanx Mitchell
  14. Mickey, Thank you for the input but I've already "flushed" and many times. I'm still thinking because it worked before that something else is happening. Just can't find it yet. I had talked to the Rockwell Tech support about the harmony prg. deleting in the registry. Was hoping that would be the fix. No luck yet. Still plugging away but it's been about, well, many hours and no luck. Thanks again. Mitchell
