  1. Hello All!!! Last night while at work I encountered a situation in which I was asked to add information to a PanelView Plus 1000. So I uploaded the application with the transfer tool and tried to open the file via factory talk studio. I couldn't do it outside of ME Application. How do you re-open a file so that you can add a page or make changes to the HMI? This is not my app. this app is something someone else has done and we're looking to add other things.
  2. Need Holy Help... Plc Cpm1a

    Shift Register is the key and all you need. This is very correct and the easiest way to accomplish what you want to do. You will need to establish an input, pulse, and reset. But as he stated its all in your man. or actually under instruction help in your software.
  3. CX-Simulator

    I actually have the program and it's a gem to own. You don't have to have a real PLC available just the knowledge of what you want to accomplish with the desired functionality of the project in questioned. Like adding different types of modules such simulating analog IO and others. But the software only simulates CS1 units as well as it's counter part CJ1 PLC's. Hope this is what you needed to know.
  4. Maintaining bit status after power failure

    Thx, I really enjoy using the Omron software. I have a friend who has worked with you on a project here in Chicago Jay. I was talking to him about some things and mentioned this site and your name. He told me to say hello to you for him. He's out of Kiser controls here in Burr Ridge. Mr. Frank Serritella controls engineer. But you guys keep the ideas coming I'm always interested in gainning an advantage. Thx, again for the counters info I'm exploring all avenues. I used the Set and RSET w/ a W bit and latch to manipulate the circuit to get the effect I wanted. You guys are amazing here.
  5. Maintaining bit status after power failure

    I get it now, someone told me that the initial scan of the cpu would automatically acknowledge the HR's and skip anything else. Thanks a lot fellas, J in Chicago.
  6. Maintaining bit status after power failure

    I don't know how to do the screen shot so that you guys can actually see the circuit. But what I can do for those who will understand is give a statement list. LD 0.00 TIM 001 #20 LDNOT TIM001 OUT HR0.00 LD HR0.00 OUT LD 10.00 Sorry this is the best that I can do. This circuit consist of a external input 0.00 that if it is found to be true it triggers a timer. The timer then would open a rung in which that HR0.00 is the out. HR0.00 is also being used to manipulate the external out put with addressing of 10.00. Now it is to my understanding that the HR data memory area will retain it's values 1's or 0's even if there is a loss of power. I was led to believe that there is no reason that for the actuators to open if at power loss when the value at HR area 0.00 is not true.
  7. Maintaining bit status after power failure

    I am having a problem keeping the status of a few bits after power failure. Maybe I'm going about this all wrong, so I would like for someone to help me out if you will be so kind to do so. I am using the Omron CPM2A CPU and in the program I have a section where I have the unit monitoring the status of a few photo eyes. These eyes control the fill of several holding tanks and at power loss the valves remain close, but at powering up they open for a brief moment and then return to their original state. I used the HR data memory area for this app. and it seems to not have any effect as far as retentivity of the state of the actuators. What am I doing wrong? Could someone help or possibly leave a drawing as an example of correctly using the HR bits.
  8. Heating and Cooling.........

    Hey Guys, I got a question on heating and cooling capabilities on the CJ1 control modules. My company manufactures hair products and was looking to have a system in which we could integrate everything on to our intranet so that we could monitor the status of raw material and batch progression. Not only will the plc communicate this information but we also wanted the plc to control heating and cooling to maintain a stable temperature of the Kettles on the compounding floor. I was told that the CJ1 didn't have the modules capable of doing so by a friend. I don't want to use the bulky CS1. We're going for a more modest look and this would really under mind our efforts to get away from space taking units. I'm all ears for suggestions fellas. My preference is Omron, but Allen Bradley comments will be taken to heart as well.
  9. Ladder Diagramming Software?

    Unfortunately Jim I have not seen too many that are not pricey. I know that the AutoCAD electrical software 2004 is about five thousand, and there is an alternative which is the promisE software from ECT. This is only half the price of AutoCAD and is much better to me. Only draw back I seen with this software the company wants to use something they called live interaction. Where the use of the product is monitored online whenever you are online. No privacy at all!!! But we actually bit that buller and bought this one. Here check them out, they will even do an online demo with you.ECTI International
  10. CX -> Simulator compatibility?

    You know I've tried that and I will try it again. I have tried about every possible way I could conceive. I have tried creating a new PLC from scratch using the smallest one available to me CS1G CPU42 with three racks. I set the IO's and created a program from scratch to function linear to what I started my addressing to be [0012] which gives me 12.00 I 13.00 O. Using the IO tool button and configuring my own virtual inputs I designed a simple scenario for the unit to follow. Same old error the IO's set to watch does not exist? I verified, compared with the program..... succesful. But when I compare with the PLC it fails. Why? I'm about lost. I used the same model in the new program design window as was used to build the virtual unit. I'll be getting in to it tonight and I'll take notes and display the situation on the boards. Maybe my delima can be used to help someone with like situations. Thank you Sleepy.
  11. CX -> Simulator compatibility?

    Hey Fella's, I got this thing and I've been playing aroung with it and I'm loving it. Of a truth I can only use it with the CS1G/H but that's all I really need. The only problem I am having is actually creating a IO scenario to run. I have a few that I have converted from other programs I have done. But I always get an error that the IO is not supported? I've done all that I am accustomed to, so now I am reading the help section. Unless one of you gents can help me cheat. Hey I love this place you guy's have been a great help to me and to one another. I am looking for my chance to do the same. Omron's the best folks. Did get into AB but I prefer getting stuck up while I'm not looking. No disrespect to all those working for Rockwell Automation who know me. A change had to come.
  12. cqm1h password protected

    Q: Is this particular unit protected with the FUN 49 feature? Or is this something you can change by going into the DM area and changing the value for the Bit area allocated for the program memory write protection. This area is not write protected and can be changed at all times. Please understand that this is not an authoritive answer and you should not tamper with someone else's program unless you really have to. Especially if you don't have the blessing of the parent company in which the system has come from.
  13. CX -> Simulator compatibility?

    This question is for all who are familiar with the CX -> Simulator software. I just got this stuff in and my local Omron sales rep. called me and said he's not sure this will work with the version of CX -> Programmer I'm running. I'm running the V2.0 and I can control all Omron plc's except for the new CJ1. I can do the CS1 and the CQM1H, even the little fella's. But before I open this and blow 700.00 dollars I need some confirmation because he's not able to get anything solid on this issue.
  14. Having trouble installing the CX-> Supervisor...

    The install is asking for a second disc from there I'm lost.... does this require a disc? I would think not.
  15. Locked out!

    Hey folks, I have not been around in a while and I new this was the only place to get some help. I am working on an machine that I have no idea who has done the original program. There is a sec. code and I need to make some changes like yesterday!!! I wanted to know if there was a back door code to put in this particular unit that would allow me to make the necessary changes to accomplish what is needed? The unit is a fairly old one but is found on the CX Programmer Software. It's the CQM1 CPU 21 version. I would really appreciate the help........ thanks a million. E. Concepts
