  1. GX Developer

Hi Could anyone help with a problem using GX Developer I have a laptop that keeps stopping so we decided to get a new laptop and scrap the old Sony Vaio. The laptop we chose is a Dell Lattitude E5510 with built in rs232 com port I transfered our programmes over and installed GX Developer V8.91, E Designer & GT Designer 3 I can connect to the GOT screens using GT Designer and connect to the PLC through the GOT screen using GX Developer I can connect to the PLC's direct using the "09" cable and GX Developer I can connect to the E Terminals (E100 E200 etc) using an "05" cable and E Designer but not through the terminals to the PLC with GX Developer We have tried this on our test rig, using two other laptops with GX Developer, and both these connect through the E Terminals to the PLC, except the new laptop which gives a communication error, all we are doing is unplugging from one laptop to the other using the same cables and set up. I have spent about an hour with Mitsubishi Technical help (UK) checking all the settings and they cant find the problem, they are getting back to me The differences with the laptops are that the older ones are running Windows XP and the new laptop is running Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. Mitsubushi says it should work with this. Any advice would be welcome Thanks grinbo
  2. Replacing a TP170A HMI with a TP177A HMI

Behnam Thank you for your reply, I will look at your attachment. I was just going to update the topic by saying the software that has been ordered is SIMATIC WinCC flexible 2008 Compact Will I be able to get the original HMI file using this software? Thanks again grinbo
  3. Replacing a TP170A HMI with a TP177A HMI

Hi This is the full story We have a machine that is still working, but the TP170A HMI has got lines across the screen making it hard to read. I would like to replace this HMI before we can no longer use it, and the machine will not work. After speaking to a local Siemens stockist, it appears this screen is no longer available and i would have to upgrade from the TP170A HMI to the TP177A HMI. Their "sales" guy told me that I cannot use Prosave as these are not identical screens and I would need WinCC to copy from the old HMI to the new. Have I been given the wrong information here? As I said I have never used any Siemens software before and this is the only Siemens machine we have. Thank you grinbo
  4. Hi I would like some help with changing a TP170A touch screen that has some of the screen showing lines but still working, with a TP177A HMI both mono. I have never used Siemens software before. I have ordered WinCC software and the cable needed to copy the existing 170A HMI (recomended by Seimens) to the new 177A HMI. I would like to know if this is an easy process or if I may encounter problems. Any tips to help me before I try. Thank you Regards grinbo
  5. Mitsubishi E200 HMI v4.03

@ kaare_t I think you are right, I sent the programme to the E200 and it looks like no changes have been made to how it was. As I am new to this, these messages give me doubts when I get them.
  6. Mitsubishi E200 HMI v4.03

WOW Gambit, thank you very much for your help. I followed your instructions and after 9mins and 41 seconds I now have a working terminal again One more question, am I better sticking to using E-Designer v6.13 instead of v7.50 as this seems to have more options for older firmware. The programme I made in v7.50 it says some parts are not compatable with the firmware in this E200. Can the e200 be upgraded to v6.0. not that I want to mess it up again, just for future reference. I can re-write the programme in the older software. Thanks again grinbo
  7. Mitsubishi E200 HMI v4.03

Hi I am new to programming and have been given loan of a new E200 HMI to learn on and for testing. It is a spare for a machine in use and been kept for quite a while in their stores. I bought E-Designer software and installed V7.50 and the CAB5 hmi cable to connect up, CAB19 cable to a FX1N plc. When I tried to connect I only had the option of E200 v6.0x or E200 6.2x , and assumed that it would update the terminal from v4.03 to v6.0. Big mistake. This is where it all went wrong. The programme started to transfer and then stopped giving transmission error. Showing on the screen now is E200 v4.03 and I am unable to connect to it at all, failed transmission error, it seems to be "locked up" Searching the internet I found "try the E Designer v6.13 software" which has the option of setting E200 v4.0x for programming so after installing this I thought it would now work. I have tried new programmes to upload, using send, verify or receive but I still cannot connect and get transmission error in all cases even with the setting at E200 v4.0x. Can anyone please help me with a fix for this or am I going to have to buy them another terminal? Thank you grinbo
