Hi Moogie, I am guessing that you have solved the problem, if not you can contact our support at: http://www.anybus.com/support/support_request.shtml

Hi, well the gateway supports up to 150 transactions and thus that should be the limitation. You need to asign one trigger byte/output (string), as I have done in the enclosed configuration. Of coarse you would probably want to change the strings.... my config.zip

Hi, With the Anybus Communicator for Profibus (AB7000) you can do just that. You need to configure your various serial strings and asign a trigger byte to each and let the PLC change the trigger byte in order to send the string. You need to contact our office in Chicago, see contcat details below: Sales: +1 312 829 0601 Toll Free: +1 888 826 9287 Email: us-sales@hms-networks.com //Patrick L

Hi, Do note that I am in no way a Siemens expert.. If the PLC that you are using, cannot do Modbus RTU you may want to consider our Anybus gateway. http://www.anybus.com/support/support.asp?PID=345&ProductType=Anybus%20Communicator It can act as a Modbus RTU master-to-Profinet slave. There is no programming involved, just simple configuration (It even has a Modbus RTU wizard). My 2 cents

The SLC500 is a PLC from Rockwell, but I think that it is beeing fased out. Rockwell PLCs offered: For small jobs-Micrologix Medium jobs-CompactLogix Big jobs-Controllogix S7 Simatic is not a PLC... Siemens have S7-200 (For small jobs), S7-300 (Medium jobs) and S7-400 (Big jobs). My understanding is that they are being fased out, please correct me anyone If I am incorrect... Furthermore, Siemens latest plc: S7-1200 will be suitable for small to medium jobs and S7-1500 for big jobs. Again correct me anyone if I am incorrect... If your equipment is for the US market, I would recommend RockWell PLC - as they are very common there. If your equipment is for the European market, I would recommend Siemens - as they are the most commonly used PLCs here. My 2 cents

Hi all, I am not quite sure if this is the correct place to make the announcement, if so maybe admin will move the thread to the correct place. Anyways, here goes; Siemens asked HMS Industrial Networks to develop a CANopen/CAN2.0 module for the 1200 series PLC and of course we pleased to do so. The development was finalized 2 weeks ago and the CM CANopen module was released. The 2 below links will give more details: http://www.anybus.com/products/cm_canopen.shtml http://www.anybus.com/support/support_cm.asp?PID=510&ProductType=CANopen%20Master%20for%20S7-1200 The module can only be bought through HMS or their distributors. Hi guys, I know that this is gonna sound like a sales pitch.... If you guys need Modbus with S7-300/400 in the future, I think that a gateway is a more cost effective way to go. HMS (Anybus) has Profibus/Profinet to Modbus RTU/TCP, amongst many other options: http://www.anybus.com/support/support.asp?PID=345&ProductType=Anybus%20Communicator http://www.anybus.com/support/support.asp?PID=104&ProductType=Anybus%20Communicator http://www.anybus.com/support/support.asp?PID=462&ProdType=Anybus%20X-gateway http://www.anybus.com/support/support.asp?PID=468&ProdType=Anybus%20X-gateway My 2 cents
